Posted October 21, 2019 09:13:53 Police have issued a bulletin to residents in the Southland area of Queensland saying they may have seen a person acting suspiciously near a property in the town of Morumbi.
Key points: Police have been investigating two deaths in Morumbis since the weekend, one involving a man who was pronounced dead at the scene and the other involving a woman who was found dead near a house with multiple gunshot wounds in Morawah, Queensland Police have been searching for the other man, who is described as a Caucasian man in his 20s, and are continuing to look for his vehicle.
Residents in Morondi have been asked to stay in their homes and stay away from the area until the investigation is complete.
Inspector John McInnes from Morumbia Police said detectives were continuing to investigate the deaths.
“We are appealing for the public to be aware of these events and their cause, as well as any information that can assist in our investigation,” Inspector McInnis said.
He said officers had been conducting extensive searches at a property near Morumbic Park and the police helicopter had also been used to conduct a search of nearby property.
Police said they were working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths, which occurred on Saturday night at approximately 7:00pm (AEST).
“The deceased was an Asian male in his late 20s who was last seen walking along the road at Morumbin Park,” Inspector Minshew said.
“Police are appealing to anyone with information about the deceased’s whereabouts to contact Morumbil Police at 0419 757 0400.”
The coronial inquest into the deaths was opened on Sunday afternoon.
